Creating Space for Parents: Mind Bloom at Dharmic Rama Krishna Primary School

Parenting, learning and connection, the Guyanese way.

18 August 2026

In June 2026, Mind Bloom Guyana had the pleasure of spending time with parents of Dharmic Rama Krishna Primary School for an interactive parent workshop centred on learning, connection and the everyday realities of raising children.

The turnout was small, but the room certainly wasn't quiet! Parents were encouraged to participate, share their experiences, ask questions and work through activities together. The smaller group also created space for more personal conversations and meaningful interaction throughout the session.

Rather than simply telling parents what they should be doing, the workshop encouraged them to think about their own experiences, their children and the different ways children communicate through their emotions and behaviour. Interactive activities helped keep the conversation practical, relatable and, most importantly, enjoyable.

As one of our favourite reminders from the day goes: sometimes the best learning happens when we're having fun.

Hearing From Our Parents

One of the most meaningful parts of the workshop was hearing directly from the parents themselves. Their feedback reflected an appreciation for having a space where parenting could be discussed openly and where information was presented in a way that was easy to understand and apply at home.

For Mind Bloom Guyana, these conversations matter.

Parents are constantly learning alongside their children, and they deserve spaces where they can ask questions, gain practical tools and feel supported rather than judged.

Our session at Dharmic Rama Krishna Primary School was another reminder that impact is not always about filling a room. Sometimes, it is found in a smaller group of parents who are willing to talk, participate, laugh, learn and leave with something new to take home.

We are grateful to the parents who joined us and to Dharmic Rama Krishna Primary School for creating the space for the conversation.
