Where It All Began: Mind Bloom’s First Parent Workshop at Early Childhood Centre of Excellence (ECCE)

Every journey has a beginning, and for Mind Bloom Guyana, this was ours.

In 2025, Mind Bloom hosted its very first parent workshop at Early Childhood Centre of Excellence (ECCE), marking an important milestone in our journey of creating practical, supportive and engaging spaces for parents and caregivers.

With the valued assistance of Dr. Lashley, we were able to bring parents together for a session that went beyond simply listening to a presentation. From YES and NO activities to small-group conversations, reflection exercises and open discussions, parents were encouraged to participate, share their perspectives and learn from one another.

The room was filled with conversation, laughter and thoughtful exchanges, exactly the kind of environment we hoped Mind Bloom workshops would become.

Looking back, this workshop represents more than our first event. It was one of the first opportunities for us to put the Mind Bloom vision into practice: meeting parents where they are, making information approachable and creating spaces where they can learn without feeling judged.

Since then, our workshops have continued to grow, but this session will always hold a special place in our story.

It was our first room, our first group of parents, and the beginning of something we believed could make a difference.
